I, for one, welcome our new Google overlords.
The internets are abuzz today with Google happenings, first and foremost being Google talk, an IM client which also features audio communication. So it's like a free phone call. Don't get mad if you don't have windows though, you can use Google talk through iChat too.
Secondly, Gmail is now open to everyone, which isn't surprising since you need a gmail account for Google talk apparrently. And everyone I know has like 50 invites anyway.
Also, a nifty new Gmail feature, you can send email as any email address you want, which most people probably don't care about but I think is awesome, because I want my emails to be from my .alum address and not my gmail.com addy (something I used to be able to do with Comcast). It's also awesome because it has to be verified that you actually have that address, so people can't put fake addresses in there.
In other computery news, McAfee Virus scan is now free for Comcast subscribers.
You can get a free iTunes download if you sign up for spam from Wells Fargo. You can probably opt-out of the spam after you've dl'd your songs

Blog Stuff
Sitemeter Interestingness:
Someone found our blog by googling "Spoon & Longwave," although I checked and I don't see our page on any of the first 5 pages of google results. So either this person dug really deep to find our page, or it was at the top for a short period of time but no longer is. Anyways, I thought that was funny.
To take a look for yourself, click the sitemeter link and login with s13molwb and the password is you-know-what.
Also, someone from Brooklyn found us by clicking a link from my old blog. But I can't find out how they found that because I don't remember the password for that sitemeter. Who are you, person from Brooklyn? I am so curious.
Moblogging:
To send pictures and text from your phone, (I wanna see the picture of the big ol' ballon-thingy!), go here:
http://www.blogger.com/mobile-start.g
However! I believe your phone must be set up to email already. I am not sure. If you can't email, I'll take a look at your phone tonight and see if we can set it up with T-mobile and comcast. I'm not sure if you have to pay for email through T-mobile, they're constantly changing the plans. I dunno. We'll figure it out. Also, there's strait up blogging from email. I'm not really sure why that would be useful though.
Guestmaps:
OK, I don't actually think ou blog could use this kind of thing, but I just thought it was another neat GMaps trick.
Blogdex:
I was thinking of submitting us to blogdex (a blog index, started by an MIT'er of course!).
Flickr:
Blog photos from Flickr.
Hooray blog!

My Fortune
We had chinese food for lunch today.
Here is my fortune:
"If you're always a pessimist, consider just how futile that attitude can be."
Also, my lucky numbers are 7, 5, 33, 8, 28, 11. And "Medical Doctor" in Chinese is "Hai-zi."
This was not posted from Microsoft Word
But it could have been. If you'd rather use Word to update your blog, you can. I don't really use Word much anymore so I don't think I have much use for it, but it's probably better for formatting and whatnot if you'd prefer touse Word.

Now that's what I'm talking about!
NASA Announces Aeronautical Centennial Challenge
I've been waiting for my flying car for years! We're already in the future, we were promised flying cars AGES ago. 'Bout damn time.

bandipedia
I love that wikipedia has become a great repository for encyclopedic information about bands. I mean, could you imagine busting out the Brittanica's from your parents' bookshelf back in the day and find an article on Spoon? Did you know that Britt Daniel of Spoon remixed Interpol's song Slow Hands?
I could spnd hours doing this.
P.S. WE SHOULD GO SEE SPOON.
